4th Asia Pacific Deaf Youth Camp
22nd-28th June 2008
Sukabumi, West Java, Jakarta, Indonesia

We landed our Kiwi feets on Jakarta’s evening soil; we had our first culture shock – the toilets (floor-flat loos) and a particular sign - "DEATH PENALTY FOR DRUG TRAFFICKERS!" Went through immigration, baggage claim and customs, had a difficult time finding the Camp sign held by people to collect us... We, then were approached by Lazuardi and Philipus (Committee) asking if we were deaf, we confirmed with delight, once we were about to walk outside, we were dying for a swim! Humidity was really high.
